Roast Beef
Tesco -- £2.49

The best priced in its class.

This is a highly recommendable sandwich with some excellent flavours and good ingredients, and all things considered, it also has a very decent price. Note, this is part of the "Finest" range.

There is a very generous portion of sliced roast beef in this sandwich. The slices themselves can be a little thin, and the beef does seem a tad overcooked and even watery, but the flavour is sublime and it has excellent texture and bite.

There is also some fairly decent lettuce, which is crunchy and tasty, although there isn't quite enough of it, and it is subdued by the other flavours to a certain extent. Added to this is a light sprinkling of cress which complements the other flavours nicely, but again it is somewhat sparse, and only noticeable when you bite into a sufficient amount of it.

The condiments in this sandwich are excellent, and they are really the reason why this sandwich tastes so good. The strong and tasty horseradish sauce is superb with the beef and the cress, and the mild but pleasing mustard mayonnaise also adds a unique flavour as well as complementing everything else. The decision to put both these sauces in this sandwich was inspired because they work so well with the fillings, and with each other.

Overall, a very good sandwich indeed. The fillings are of good quality, and the fusion of their flavours is excellent. Also, the price is very reasonable, especially considering that similar sandwiches (from the "gourmet" stores) can cost almost £4.
