Bring your own salt and pepper.

This sandwich is certainly a step down from its non-healthy rival. While it has a couple of good points, its overall flavour isn't actually very pleasant, and it also makes a couple of very basic mistakes. This sandwich is in the "Healthy Living" range.

First of all to the egg mayonnaise itself, and already this sandwich has a problem. While the portion is decent, the egg pieces aren't particularly big so the whole thing comes across as rather pureed. The low fat dressing the egg is mixed with isn't very nice either; it's rather too watery and doesn't actually sit well with the egg at all.

The cress portion is better, and the quality of the cress itself is fine. However, without a rich mayonnaise, the bitter aftertaste of the cress is in many ways more noticeable than its more usual peppered flavour.

The malted brown bread is also disappointing; it's a little dry and the crusts are more than a little bitter. As a whole this sandwich is also brutally underseasoned. In many ways I actually think a lot of the problems with this sandwich could be helped with a little salt and pepper, which is why this lack of seasoning is so frustrating.

So in this case you're better going for the other version, unless you're really into counting calories. Going for the healthy option should never be a pain, but if you buy this sandwich that's what you're going to get.
