Tasty and good for you.

It's not often that the healthy version of a sandwich is better than the standard one; usually "healthy" means less filling and a weaker flavour. However, this is very much one of those occasions. It's not a perfect sandwich by any means, but it's certainly tasty and represents good value too. This is in the "Healthy Living" range.

First of all, I'm almost positive the portion of prawns in this is better than in the standard "Prawn Mayonnaise" sandwich. It could well be that the other one has also changed since I last tried it, but for some reason the serving here is quite decent. Again, the prawns don't have the strongest flavour, but they are certainly noticeable; the texture is still lacking however.

What makes this sandwich work is the mayonnaise, which is far from ordinary. It's a lighter mayonnaise, which works better than the rather sickly one in the standard sandwich, and it's also infused with soft cheese. This gives it a subtle richness of flavour that goes very well with the prawns, without overpowering them.

The white bread is a touch boring however; it's been blended with oatmeal but it doesn't have much flavour and it's also a little dry.

Overall it's always nice to find a healthy range sandwich that's tasty and well priced. There are better prawn sandwiches on the market, but this certainly isn't one to shy away from if you're looking at healthier options.
